Name of Video Game: Mario's Time Machine

Year of Release: 1994

‘Mario's Time Machine’ is an educational video game developed by Radical Entertainment and published by Software Toolworks for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The video game was released in 1994 as part of the ‘Mario Series’.

This video game puts the player in control of Mario, the game’s main character, in his adventures to save Yoshi who was captured by Browser, the evil king of the Koopas. Browser is back again with his evil plan of conquering the world. This time, he has a time machine and is using it to travel back in time to steal all the important artefacts of famous persons, such as Plato, Thomas Edison, and Cleopatra. All the stolen items will be put by Browser in what he calls, time’s greatest museum. If these stolen artefacts are not immediately returned to their original locations and owners, history will soon change, permanently. With this, Mario must immediately stop Browser.

The controls of the game are easy to master. Controls include the A, B, X, Y and R buttons. The button A makes Mario jump. It is also used to confirm the selection made by the player. Button X is used to take an artefact from a pedestal in Browser’s museum while Y is used to increase Mario’s speed. L is used to access two pages of information and button R is used to call on the time machine.
