Rozz Williams was born in 1963. He was named Roger Alan Painter at birth. His birth took place in California. He hails from Pomona in the United States. His name is associated with the following music types Dark cabaret and Death rock music. Apart from being a successful singer he has penned many songs also. His peak time was during the eighties. He is popularly known for his association with the ensembles Shadow project ,Christian death etc. He has played a great role in the development of music types Gothic and Death rock in the United States. He is one of the earliest musicians to work on the genre Death rock in America. Besides these he was involved in the activities of a number of musical ensembles like Premature Ejaculation, Exp, Daucus Carota etc. His stint in the music industry as an independent musician was also successful.
During his childhood he was inspired by the works of musicians like Alice cooper, Iggy pop, Roxy music, The new york dols (Ensemble) etc. During his teenage years he was more interested in the music type Punk rock music. It was around that time that he started his association with musical groups. Some of his earlier bands include No, The Upsetters, The crawlers which was his initial group etc. He was a piano player for these bands apart from being a vocalist.
He became the starter of the ensemble “The Asexuals.” He went to become a part of a number of other ensembles. The labels in his career include Frontier, Cleopatra, Hollows hill sound etc.
He passed away in the year 1998.
